Donor Timeline from Start to Finish

Today's blog post was written by our donor coordinator, Cassidy.

The question that we get asked most often is, "What does the donor timeline look like?" Here’s a step-by-step look into what the donor timeline looks like.

First complete our prescreen application, it only takes 3-5 minutes, and this will let us know if you qualify for our program.

After completing the prescreen application, an email will be sent to let you know the next steps. In this email there will be a link to schedule an intake call with one of our donor coordinators. During this call we will go over the next steps in detail, go over your pre-screen application, and go over completing the full questionnaire.

The next steps are as follows:

  • Complete the full questionnaire (questions that will go on your donor database profile)

  • Schedule donor interview and complete post interview checklist & donor video

  • Lab screening

  • Database finalization meeting (90 minute Zoom meeting with a Donor Coordinator, going over the egg donation process)

  • Profile placed on database

  • Wait to get matched with a family

Once you are matched with a family, the cycle process for donors looks like this:

  • Donor is matched with family

  • Availability is confirmed

  • Sign off on match confirmation

  • Meet with case manager

  • Medical clearance with fertility clinic

  • Legal clearance

  • Establish a calendar for medication cycle

  • Egg retrieval

Everyone’s donor timeline can look a little different, but we are always happy to go over the process. Typically, it takes about one month from once you apply to once you get added to the donor database. Once a donor is matched with a family it takes about 3-6 months from matching to retrieval.

If you have any questions about the process, your donor coordinator can answer them during the intake call.
