One of the most common questions we get from intended parents, is "How should I go about choosing my IVF clinic?" Everyone's IVF journey is different, and everyone has different priorities and values when choosing their IVF clinic.

At the end of the day, it really is your decision, but this blog post can provide some advice, from our experience working with families over the years.

I found a donor I really like! Should I choose a clinic that's located close to them?

So you've found a donor you really like - that's great! While choosing a clinic close to the donor will cut down on travel costs, our advice is to choose the clinic and doctor that you feel most confident with. The important thing is to have confidence in your doctor and the team at your clinic, because they have the essential job of guiding you through the medical side of this entire process. The importance of a good medical team cannot be underestimated, especially with such a big life event.

How much will clinic location actually affect the total cost?

Budget is definitely important and something to take into consideration, but in the grand scheme of things it's only going to be a difference of about a few thousand dollars at most. The donor only travels to the clinic twice (once for the initial office visit and again for the retrieval). All of our donors are located in the United States, and we are always conscious when booking travel, and try to avoid uneccessary travel expenses.

The bottom line...

The biggest thing when choosing a clinic is to have trust and confidence in your doctor and in your clinic. Trusting your IVF team is key when going through this emotional and momentous process.
